“Hamptons L & A Builders was a great company to work with.  Their team approach to construction facilitated a truly collaborative environment throughout the course of the project.  The design and construction of a new house is a long, usually unfamiliar and very personal experience for most homeowners. Hamptons L & A  helped greatly to make this process a smooth one.  The owner is happy, I’m happy.  We’ve already begun working on our next project together.  I think that says it all.”

To whom it may concern,

I’m writing as an architect on behalf of Attila Ozturk (Hampton’s RMR), contractor for the renovation and rebuilding of 77 Prospect Place, in Brooklyn, a project of 18-month duration which finished in the winter of 2004. The project involved the gutting of a one-story carriage house, approximately 120 years old, and the fabrication and erection of an entirely new second floor, approximately 1200SF, built of steel. The full renovation (6500 SF) included new electrical, mechanical and structural systems, and all interior finishes, many of them custom and labor-intensive, including custom cabinetry, lime-washed plaster walls, and specialty flooring.

Despite numerous restrictions due to a tight site, aging building and impossible parking regulations, Atilla and his crew worked diligently, calmly and professionally for the duration of the job. Atilla, as the overseer of all subcontractors, ensured the proper coordination to allow us to keep schedule on a project whose parameters expanded with each client visit—one day a decision to sheath the sheetrock living room ceiling in cedar, the next the installation of a rooftop hottub.

Atilla relates to his clients with an uncommon ease, listens to their needs and desires, and follows through professionally and reassuringly. I recommend him highly to anyone seeking a conscientious contractor, and only wish he and his crew weren’t so far removed from New York City.

Sincerely,
Philippe Baumann RA

70 John Street Sag Harbor

We live in California and inherited a house in Sag Harbor.

In California we have barely survived a complete renovation of one home and the building of another.

Due to contractor problems neither was a happy experience. So it was with great trepidation that we undertook a cross-country renovation without an architect or designer. Somehow this time the Gods smiled on us and Atilla became our contractor.

There was much back and forth and many, many changes through it all Atilla, now known as St. Atilla was responsive caring and good natured. He kept reassuring us that what mattered was that we be happy with the results. We are.  If all contractors were like Atilla the profession would be universally loved and respected.
